Evam Theatricals - Events

Play merchants, the team from SRM Arts and Science College headed by Shivaramakrishnan are staging a play “for the sake of butter"  on the 26th of September on the auditorium of Ethiraj college.
 Buttery Gita, is a modern day adaption of Mahabarata stars all main characters of Mahabarata namely  Arjun, Krishna , duriyodhana, Karna, Panjali, Indra and oorvasi in modern day characters. A plot which has its base at a problem related to butter adultery is a laughter riot and promises to create waves in the Evam theatricals.
Shiva Ram  the director of “for the sake of butter” says,” We are all set to explode on the stage on 26th .
We would love to have all the students of our college along with their families witnessing Krishna solve the hilarious butter adultery case.”

First day in the cultural competitions held on Anna adarsh college


After today's(20.09.10) first day in the cukturak competitions held on Anna adarsh college , SRM arts and science college looked poised for taking the over all championship title for 6th year in succession.

ADOLOSENSE CLUB: ONAM mood in the air

ONAM mood in the air
Adolosense celebrated ONAM in ADVERTSING style. There was a competition held fa the members where they had to state out the promotional strategies of “tourism kerala” during onam as well as prepare a print ad for the same topic and also write a script on the a t.v commericial for “TOURISM KERALA”. There was a overwehlming response with 30 entries coming in. The winners were awarded with certificates. There is more to come so stick to us and experience a whole new experience.
A very big thanks to everybody who participated.

short film festival was organised by Sathyabama University

A state level inter collegiate short film festival was organised by the department of visual communication of Sathyabama University at their auditorium on the 16th and 17th of this month.
A total of 78 short film entries were received from all over the state. about 25 short films were screened over the period of two days.the valuable inputs about the film world were given by several famous celebrity personalities like actor cum director Mr.Parthiban , director of the movie "Eeram" ,Mr Arivazhagan, director of the movie "pollathavan " Mr. Vettri Maran and fabulous directors like Mr.Linguisamy.


Arun Ramprasad and Priyanka Venkat of 2nd year electronic media, students of Srm Arts and Science College had sent in their short film titled "The Unposted Letter" which was adjudged the 2nd best short film and both of them were awarded certificates and trophies along with a cash prize of Rs.7500 from the celebrated editor Mr.Lenin. 
It was indeed a proud moment for Srm Arts And Science College. 

Adolosense(Ad Club) ARISES

The origin of the name of the ad club ( adolosense) came from the basic concept of advertising , which is adding all sense to each and everything. The club’s logo was realsed at the inaugration function. It was conceptualised and created by one of the best designers of the department “SRI HARI”. By using the different words in the advertising world in a very unique typography came up the logo of the club. Evevrything realated to advertising that is from maketing, ad films, concepts, communication and branding are some of the few areas which will be focused on.

Cultural competition organised by the Department of Communication, Ethiraj college

Well begun is half done they say,the students of SRM Arts and Science college completed the first part of the proverb when they won the “OVER ALL” trophy in the recently concluded MEDIOS’10.


MEDIOS’10 was a Inter college cultural competition organised by the Department of Communication,Ethiraj college.It was the first cultural competition participated by this new team. And yet BANG came result as they sizzled in each and every contest .


Though it was a mini culturals,it was really tough to get through such things. A total of 7 events took place,out of which SRM arts and science college excelled out standingly. 


It was a two day event. the first day of MEDIOS had an inauguration by Mr. Pandiraj Director of Pasanga and Vamsam.Our students started rocking from the question session of his till the question session of the valedictory function's chief guest Director J.S.Nandhinee of Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru fame.

NOTE: IT TOOK ALMOST 1 HOUR FOR THEM TO GIVE AWAY THE OVERALL TROPHY, IN THE MEAN TIME,
           OUR STUDENTS PROVED TO BE THE BEST TO DANCE FOR ENTERTAINMENT QUOTIENT TOO.
           AT THE END OF THE DAY IT WAS SRM ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE WHO ROCKED @ ETHIRAJ

A COMMENDABLE EFFORT FROM THE FILM CLUB CREW WHICH INDEED DESERVES RECOGNITION

The event began at the stroke of 11 am today. In brief it was a short film contest which contained 14 films in total out of which only 9 were screened due to technical problems in the remaining 5 films. 

Third year Viscom student Arvind compeered for the event and three judges present were Mr.Athi , Mr.Devendran  and The head of the department Mr Natrajan .The films had come out brilliantly which showcased the talent of the young minds.
A healthy and tough competition prevailed amongst the students where the decision of the judges was not a cakewalk. In the end the much awaited results were announced, 

the best dialogue writer and screenplay was awarded to A.R.Yogandran of 2nd year viscom for the movie “Unnai Pirinthu”. 

The best editor award was given to Senthamizh Pandian of 3rd year viscom for “Poi Vesham”. The music composer award was given to K.Vigneshwar of 3rd year. 

The best cinematography went to  Surya of 1st year viscom f or the thriller movie “ 5th floor”. 

Moving on to the final awards, the second best short film was bagged by Arun Ramprasad of second year electronic media for his commendable effort shown in the movie “The Unposted Letter”. 


And now for the grand finale the best short film award was bagged by Ellamai Doss of 3rd year Viscom for his movie “Poi Vesham”. 

The best director award was awarded to M.Dinesh of 2nd year Electronic media for his apt thinking in the movie “Thirai Kathai”. 

The awards were given by the Honourable judges themselves which was followed by a thought provoking speech given by Mr Athi himself.Finaly to end the session  the vote of thanks was delivered by Priyanka Venkat, the coordinator of the Film club
The film club crew had indeed done a very neat job and is planning to do further more activites which would rope in talents from many young minds across the city.
